I was looking at pics of crashed pace cars (why? you get to find out later) and came across this image of the 1971 Dodge Challenger that lost control on the pit lane and crashed into a stand full of photographers. Per Hemmings, the driver, a local dealership owner, had placed a marker on pit road to tell him where to brake. It was moved. In the car with him were Tony Hulman, Chris Schenkel and John Glenn. Yes, that John Glenn. No one was seriously injured.
